About the event

This event will provide an overview of national Health and Justice medicines and pharmacy programmes, including an update on the rollout of access to, and guidance on continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices within prisons and secure estates.

The session will contain an update on structured medication review (SMR) guidance, polypharmacy, and learning sets for Health and Justice prescribers.

There will be a workshop on the planned Electronic Prescribing System (EPS) rollout.

Why it’s important

Attendees can use information from this webinar to ensure that they are involved in developing and implementing national programmes locally, including:

  • Use of the new CGM device guidance to support the prescribing of CGM devices in secure and detained estates, ensuring consistent access
  • Planning how SMRs will be delivered in Health and Justice practice
  • Reviewing release planning processes so that EPS 28-day prescriptions replace the supply of medicines and paper FP10s

What will be covered

  • What are the main programmes being led nationally for Health and Justice medicines optimisation
  • How to introduce CGM devices and SMRs into Health and Justice practice
  • What needs to change in the medicines supply processes when using EPS
