Commissioning, implementation and impact of a neighbourhood warfarin clinic developed via the Community Pharmacy Independent Prescribing Pathfinder Programme

Date

17 November 2026

Location

Online via Webex 13:00 - 14:00

About the event

Explore how a neighbourhood warfarin clinic was developed through the NHS Community Pharmacy Independent Prescribing Pathfinder Programme. The service improved patient access through system-wide collaboration and secured recurrent funding in April 2026.

This webinar is for community pharmacists, ICB commissioning leads and healthcare professionals interested in system wide working. It will take the format of a facilitated discussion between the speakers. Webinar attendees can ask questions using the chat function.

Why its important

Community pharmacist prescribing aligns with the NHS neighbourhood health model by delivering integrated, person-centred care within local communities and making better use of the clinical skills available across primary care.

What will be covered

  • An overview of the collaborative approach used to set up the service
  • How the team identified and overcame implementation barriers
  • Reflections from a community pharmacist on the benefits of delivering the service within the community pharmacy setting
  • How the service secured ongoing funding
